Contractor Starts Garage Removal

Cottage Prep Work Begins

The General Contractor has begun selective interior demolition at 239 Franklin.  Basement level partitions, fixtures, and equipment were removed for salvage and disposal. The original boiler that provided heat for the Cottage was removed.  It will be replaced after the house is relocated by a modern forced air heating and air conditioning unit.  In addition to being more efficient, the new unit will better protect the restored

Construction Fencing Installed At 239 Franklin

The perimeter construction fence was installed this morning at 239 Franklin.  This protects the property during the project from access by unauthorized individuals. Glencoe Park District Provides Cottage Update

The Glencoe Park District continues to discuss Park 7n with residents both in favor and concerned about the move of the Wright-designed Cottage in Glencoe. In the last month, the Glencoe Park District has held five citizen meetings and a neighborhood meeting to discuss the issue. Frank Lloyd Wright Cottage Relocation Approved

The Glencoe Historical Society (GHS) is proud to announce that a plan to preserve and relocate the Wright-designed Cottage in Glencoe has been approved. Following an informational public hearing last night at the Takiff Center, the Glencoe Park District Board of Commissioners voted to approve a long-term lease allowing the cottage to be placed on a small portion of Park 7N, adjacent to the Ravine Bluffs subdivision
